According to a video from 00:15 shared on Facebook on Monday, September 14, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church (IESC) Worldwide, has warned Nigerians that the country could experience worse economic hardship if voters elect the wrong candidate or political party in the 2027 general elections.
Ayodele gave the warning in a recent prophecy where he urged Nigerians to carefully consider their choices ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The cleric predicted that the country could face increased economic difficulties if citizens fail to elect what he described as the right candidate.
According to him, Nigerians have yet to experience the full extent of the hardship that could follow an unfavourable electoral outcome. He said, “If you vote a wrong candidate, or a wrong party, we have not seen hardship, we will see worse hardship.”
The prophet further warned that the situation could become more difficult for citizens, particularly in their efforts to meet basic needs.
Ayodele predicted that food could become scarce and that Nigerians might experience greater difficulties in their daily lives if the wrong candidate emerges victorious.
He said the consequences of electing an unsuitable candidate could affect different aspects of the country’s economy, leading to increased suffering among the population.
The cleric urged Nigerians to take the 2027 elections seriously, stressing that their decisions at the ballot box would be important to the country’s future. He maintained that the emergence of the wrong candidate could worsen the challenges facing the nation.
