Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has questioned the treatment of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Dalung raised the issue while speaking during an interview from 18.15 on Channels TV, where he reflected on El-Rufai’s alleged role in helping Tinubu secure the APC presidential ticket ahead of the 2023 election.
He questioned what El-Rufai had gained from his political support for Tinubu, arguing that the former governor is now facing serious pressure instead of benefiting from the role he allegedly played.
According to Dalung, El-Rufai is now in a difficult position, describing his situation as being in chains while alleging that authorities have continued to search for charges against him.
Dalung also claimed that the authorities had not found enough grounds to secure a conviction against the former Kaduna governor.
His comments come amid ongoing political discussions surrounding El-Rufai’s relationship with the Tinubu administration and the allegations against the former governor.
In his words, “What has he gotten in return? He has chains now in his hands, and every day they are tightening the chains; they have been searching and looking for charges. They’ve not gotten enough to grant his conviction.”
